2023 End of Year Campaign

As we end our second year as a non-profit, we are thankful for all of the support we have had from the community.

• We have found almost 1000 pieces of music with Newport ties.

• We have found the names of over 900 musicians who lived and/or performed in Newport.

• We brought back free community band concerts to Touro Park.

• We led tours in local cemeteries, focusing on the lives of the musicians buried in them.

• We visited schools, giving talks about our local musical history.

• We collaborated with other local nonprofits.

As we look towards 2024, we envision an Historic Music of Newport that is able to expand its role in the community. Your gift will help us:

• Bring the 2024 Summer Concert Series back to Touro Park with four great concerts featuring Community Bands from across the state. Your gift will help keep these concerts free.

• Preserve more music with Newport ties.

• Tell the stories of more of Newport’s musicians.

• Continue our tours of the local cemeteries and add more events to help tell the story of Newport’s musical past.

• Expand our work with local nonprofit organizations.

• Expand our work bringing the music and the stories of the musicians into local schools.

• Offer more musical programming celebrating Newport’s musical history.
